Man Arrested for Dumping Murdered Lady's Body in Ajah Canal

The Lagos State Police Command has launched an investigation into a murder case that occurred in the Ajah area on July 14. The suspect was arrested after attempting to dispose of the body of a yet-to-be-identified woman in a canal.

Arrest at the Scene

According to SP Adebisi Abimbola, the command's spokesperson, the police received a tip-off that the accused had killed a woman and was trying to dump her body in a canal along Monastery Road, Mopo, Ajah. Security guards in the area apprehended him before the police arrived.

A video circulating online shows the body of the deceased inside the canal.

Police Response and Ongoing Investigation

Abimbola stated that the Divisional Police Officer (DPO) led a team of operatives to the scene, where the suspect was taken into custody. The body was evacuated to the General Hospital Mortuary in Yaba for preservation and autopsy. The suspect remains in police custody.

The case has been transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) in Yaba for further investigation.
