Witness Blasts VeryDarkMan, Reveals True Story Behind Harrison Gwamnishu's Arrest
Man Counters VeryDarkMan's Claim on Harrison Gwamnishu Arrest

A Nigerian man has launched a furious rebuttal against popular internet commentator Martins Vincent Otse, known as VeryDarkMan, over his claims regarding the recent detention of activist Harrison Gwamnishu. The witness, Zekeri Idris Jnr, asserts that VeryDarkMan's narrative is a complete fabrication.

Eyewitness Account Contradicts Public Narrative

In a video shared on Facebook, Zekeri Idris Jnr angrily refuted VeryDarkMan's assertion that he was responsible for initiating the call that led to Gwamnishu's arrest. Idris stated he had remained silent on the matter due to its sensitive nature, but felt compelled to speak out against what he termed blatant lies.

Idris claimed he was a direct participant and witness to the entire sequence of events that unfolded in Benin City. According to his account, Harrison Gwamnishu was invited to Benin by a top government official concerning the ongoing Auchi kidnap case. The official directed Gwamnishu to meet with the Edo State Commissioner of Police for discussions.

The Real Reason for the Detention

Idris narrated that after Gwamnishu met with the police commissioner and the matter was investigated, the police independently made the decision to detain him. He emphasized that VeryDarkMan played no role in this process.

"I have kept quiet on Harrison's matter because of how sensitive it is," Idris stated. "When Harrison came to Benin day before yesterday, I was part of that process from the beginning to the end. The person who invited him to Benin, why police detained him, how the investigation was done... I saw everything first hand."

He explained that efforts were made to secure Gwamnishu's bail, but the police declined. Idris suggested he understood the police's perspective, citing the ongoing trauma of the kidnap victim's family. "The family of this person still have somebody in the kidnapper's gang. It did not make sense to release Harrison. That is the only reason they did not release Harrison on that day," he said.

VeryDarkMan and His Fans Come Under Fire

Idris did not mince words in his criticism of VeryDarkMan, questioning his influence and motive. "This boy in Abuja, lying hopelessly that that's why he called police, make them detain Harrison. Who are you? As who?" he challenged.

He also blasted the internet personality's supporters, known as Ratels, for propagating the false narrative. Idris expressed a personal disdain for dishonesty, stating, "There is nothing I hate in my life more than lies. I believe that all liars will go to hell."

Idris concluded by indicating that the full details of the case would be revealed by Harrison Gwamnishu himself at the appropriate time, urging the public to disregard VeryDarkMan's version of events.

Public Reaction and Corroborating Evidence

The eyewitness account has stirred significant reactions online. Comments on social media reflect a mix of support for Idris's truth-telling and criticism of the attempt to tarnish Gwamnishu's reputation while a kidnap victim remains in captivity.

This development follows a previous report by Legit.ng where a woman, Gwen, shared WhatsApp chats with Harrison Gwamnishu from days before his arrest. In those chats, Gwamnishu mentioned being invited by the Chief of Staff to the Edo State governor. He held meetings with government officials and the Commissioner of Police on Monday, December 1, regarding state security, before being detained during a follow-up meeting on Thursday, December 4.

The situation highlights the complex interplay between social media activism, security matters, and the pursuit of justice in sensitive cases.
