In a viral video that has circulated widely, the suspect was paraded around the community by the youths, where he openly admitted to the heinous crime.

During the parade, Damian confessed that his motive stemmed from his mother's refusal to bathe him and her failure to provide financial support for his brother, who had completed an apprenticeship in barbing and needed funds to rent a shop and start a salon. "I killed my mother because she refused to bathe me and also refused to rent a shop for my brother who learned barbing and needed money to start," he stated in the video.
