A grief-stricken Nigerian man, Simon Innocent Ejiga, has publicly mourned his sister, Mercy, who died in a toxic marriage. The 38-year-old woman was laid to rest in her father's compound in Kogi State on Monday, May 18, 2026.

While the grief and pain of losing his sister is overwhelming, Simon expressed that she is finally free from what he described as a “toxic marriage, secret tears, and threat messages from people who had been trying to harm her.”

“Finally, my Beautiful sister have been laid to Rest. No more sleepless nights, No more threat messages from those after your life, No more secret tears, No more toxic marriage,” he wrote in a Facebook post after the burial.

“In all, we return all praise to Almighty God. Thank you all for your support in every way. On behalf of Late Hon. Simon Baba's family, we're grateful. Rest well Mummy Praise mi.”
