The Edo State Police Command has officially confirmed the tragic death of a young man identified as Christopher, who was fatally shot by suspected kidnappers in the Auchi area near Igbira camp. The incident, which has sent shockwaves through the community, occurred as the assailants attacked Christopher and abducted his partner, highlighting a disturbing escalation in criminal activities in the region.

According to Eno Ikoedem, the spokesperson for the Edo State Police Command, eyewitnesses reported that the suspected kidnappers were dressed in military uniforms during the assault. "I am not saying they are soldiers, but witnesses stated that the individuals wore army camouflage," Ikoedem clarified. She emphasized that the young man was shot during the attack and was subsequently rushed to a nearby health facility, where he was later pronounced dead.
