The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) has reported that a 12-year-old boy from Benue State, who went missing, has been found safe in Gombe State. The boy, identified as Reuben Mtagher, an indigene of Ukum Local Government Area in Benue, is currently under the protection of the NSCDC.
Discovery in Gombe State
Reuben was reportedly discovered in Amada, a community in Akko Local Government Area of Gombe State. According to the NSCDC, he was found alive and in good health. The boy communicates exclusively in the Tiv language, which has helped authorities identify his origin.
Details from the Boy
During interactions, Reuben revealed that he has three brothers named Suur, Mnguember, and Mmen. The NSCDC has not disclosed how the boy ended up in Gombe or the circumstances of his disappearance.
Appeal for Family Information
Reuben is currently in the safe custody of the NSCDC Gombe State Command Headquarters. The Corps has issued an appeal to his parents, guardians, relatives, or anyone with useful information about his family to visit the Gombe State Command Headquarters for identification and collection of the child. The NSCDC emphasizes that any relevant information will help reunite Reuben with his family.
