In a tragic incident that has shocked the Yobe community, a suspected robber was beaten to death by an angry mob in Azam Kura, Bade Local Government Area. The violent confrontation occurred after the suspect stabbed a homeowner while attempting to steal a water pump from his residence.

The Yobe State Police Command confirmed the incident through spokesperson SP Dungus Abdulkarim in a statement released on Wednesday, November 26, 2025. According to police reports, the suspect had targeted a residential property on November 25 with the intention of stealing a water pump.
"There was a reported case of theft involving a lone suspect who attempted to steal a water pump from a residence," the police statement revealed. "In the course of trying to apprehend the suspect, the homeowner sustained a stab injury to the stomach."

The situation quickly spiraled out of control when agitated community members discovered the attack. What began as an attempted robbery turned into a violent mob action that resulted in the suspect's death.
