A 29-year-old American mother, who publicly mourned her two-year-old son's death in an online fundraiser, now faces serious criminal charges connected to the toddler's passing.
Charges Follow Tragic Incident
Raven Louise Broniecki was arrested and charged last week with involuntary manslaughter, cruelty to children, and criminal negligence. The charges relate to the death of her young son, Keith Richard.
According to reports from WTOC-TV News, the arrest occurred on December 8. This development came just five days after Broniecki allegedly created a fundraising page on GoFundMe, seeking financial help following her son's tragic death.
Fundraiser Preceded Arrest
In the now-removed online post, Broniecki described her son as her "sweet baby boy" and "whole world." She explained she was trying to raise money for bills, stating the family had spent all their funds on funeral expenses, an urn, and other related costs.
"We now are left with a hefty amount of bills and just need some help to get back on our feet," she wrote, adding they were "very stressed and heart broken" while still having six other children to raise.
Police Investigation Changes Narrative
The incident that led to Keith Richard's death occurred on November 22. WJCL-TV News reports the child was rushed to the hospital after suffering a fatal gunshot wound inside the family home. Initially, the incident was reported as an accidental shooting.
However, an investigation by the Hinesville police led to the mother's arrest. Following her arraignment last week, Broniecki was released after posting a $22,300 bond.
This case highlights a deeply tragic situation where a public appeal for sympathy and support has been overshadowed by serious criminal allegations from law enforcement officials.
