NAPPS Shuts Ogun Schools Over Abduction of Schoolchildren

The National Association of Proprietors of Private Schools (NAPPS) has ordered the closure of all private schools in Ogun State on Thursday, June 4, and Friday, June 5, 2026. This decision follows the abduction of schoolchildren in Oriire Local Government Area of Ogbomoso, Oyo State.

Solidarity with Victims

In a statement released on Tuesday, the Ogun State President of NAPPS, Otunba Osibeluwo Adekunle Joshua, explained that the closure is an act of solidarity with the victims still in captivity. He also acknowledged the tragic killing and beheading of a Mathematics teacher by terrorists during the incident.

Call for Fasting and Prayers

Joshua urged all members to dedicate the two days to fasting and prayers for the safe return of those still held captive, and for peace and stability to be restored across the nation. He emphasized that all members must strictly adhere to this directive.
