Newlywed Killed on Way to Church
Adaigbe Esther, a woman who married in June 2026, was stabbed to death on Monday, July 13, 2026, while on her way to morning Mass at St. Columba Catholic Church, Agbor-Obi, Delta State. The attack occurred just one month after her wedding to Joseph Emefiele.
Relative Confirms Incident
Nduka Uhiere-Ebite, who identified himself as a cousin of the victim, confirmed the incident in a Facebook post. He wrote: “Adaigbe Esther WAS KILLED ON HER WAY TO MORNING MASS IN IME-OBI AGBOR DELTA STATE NIGERIA TODAY JULY 13TH, 2026. SHE IS MY BLOOD RELATION (cousin).”
Circumstances of the Attack
According to reports, unknown assailants attacked Esther as she walked to the church. The motive for the stabbing remains unclear, and no arrests have been reported as of July 14, 2026. The community has been left in shock following the tragic death of the newlywed.
