The cleric, who described the deceased as a childhood friend, also offered prayers for the repose of his soul. He stated: "Innalillahi wa inna ilayhi raji'un. From Allah we come and to Him is our ultimate return. May Almighty Allah accept his return and forgive his shortcomings."
