Viral Video Captures Violent Altercation in Rawalpindi
A video showing a Nigerian woman physically attacking a taxi driver in Pakistan over a transport fare dispute has gone viral on social media, sparking widespread public attention. The incident occurred on a busy road in the New Town area of Rawalpindi, according to local media reports.
The footage depicts the woman assaulting the driver in an open street, prompting nearby pedestrians and motorists to intervene and calm the situation. When bystanders asked the driver about the cause of the altercation, he explained that the dispute began after the Nigerian passenger refused to pay the agreed fare.
Bystanders Step In to Resolve the Dispute
The total fare for the ride was Rs700 (equivalent to approximately N3,400). To de-escalate the conflict, onlookers stepped forward and guaranteed payment to the driver, effectively resolving the matter on the spot.
Authorities later confirmed that no official complaint was filed by either party involved in the dispute. They stated that the incident only came to light after the video surfaced on social media platforms.

Police officials said that despite the viral nature of the footage, neither the Nigerian woman nor the taxi driver has registered a formal complaint. As a result, no legal action has been initiated. The incident remains a topic of discussion online, with many condemning the violence and others calling for better dispute resolution mechanisms.
