A violent confrontation between rival cult groups in Ogun State has resulted in the tragic deaths of a police officer and an unidentified civilian. The incident, which sent panic through the Ilese area of Ijebu-Ode, occurred on the night of Saturday, November 29, 2025.

The shooting spree claimed two lives. One victim was identified as Police Officer Olamilekan Faruk Kamaldeen, who served at the Obalende Police Division in Ijebu-Ode. "I can confirm that a police officer was a victim in the incident. I am still waiting for the details of what really happened," CP Ogunlowo stated. This indicates an ongoing investigation into the motives and the identities of the perpetrators involved in the deadly clash.
