The Ogun State Police Command has initiated an investigation into the arrest of two male suspects in the Atiba area of Ijebu-Ode, which occurred on Thursday, June 4, 2026. The suspects were apprehended by operatives of the Nigeria Forest Security Service during a routine security operation.

Police Confirmation

The Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Oluseyi Babaseyi, confirmed the development to journalists in a statement issued in Abeokuta on Friday. He stated that the suspects were intercepted and subsequently handed over to the police for further investigation.

Babaseyi explained that preliminary inquiries are ongoing to establish the identities of the suspects and determine the circumstances surrounding their activities in the area. He assured residents that the situation is under control and there is no cause for alarm.
