Ondo Police Arrest Four in Kidnapping, Murder Case

The Ondo State Police Command has apprehended four individuals believed to be members of a criminal syndicate responsible for the kidnapping of Kehinde Yisa and the murder of another victim, identified as Bako, aged 50, in Ago Baale, Idoani, on March 3, 2026. The breakthrough was announced by the command's spokesperson, DSP Abayomi Jimoh, in a statement released on Thursday, June 25, 2026.

Suspects Identified and Arrested

The suspects, Umar Ibrahim (23), Musa Abdullateef (26), Ojo Sikiru (40), and Oseni Waheed (43), were arrested in a coordinated interstate operation that spanned Ondo, Oyo, and Ogun states. According to Jimoh, Umar Ibrahim, Musa Abdullateef, and Ojo Sikiru were captured in various locations within Oyo State, while Oseni Waheed was taken into custody in Ogun State following intelligence-led surveillance and tracking.

The case was initially reported and investigated at the Idoani Division before being transferred to the Command's Anti-Kidnapping Squad for more intensive investigation. Acting on credible intelligence, forensic tracking, and technical analysis, operatives conducted a thorough probe that led to the arrests.

Confessions and Legal Proceedings

Preliminary investigations revealed that the suspects made confessional statements, admitting their respective roles in the conspiracy, kidnapping, and murder of the victims. Jimoh stated, "The painstaking investigation yielded positive results as operatives successfully arrested four principal suspects... Following the conclusion of investigations, all four suspects have been charged to court for prosecution in accordance with the law. The Commissioner of Police, Ondo State Command, CP Felix Ohagwu, commended the operatives for their professionalism and dedication. He reiterated the command's determination to sustain the offensive against kidnapping, armed robbery, murder, and other violent crimes.
