Operatives of the Ondo State Police Command have achieved a significant breakthrough with the arrest of a four-man criminal syndicate specializing in kidnapping, armed robbery, and ritual-related crimes.

Intelligence-Led Operation Yields Results

Acting on credible intelligence, the Special Weapons and Tactics (SWAT) unit conducted a coordinated operation on the outskirts of Ogbese town, leading to the capture of the suspects who had been on the police watch list for some time.

The suspects, identified as Ifeoluwa Julius and three other members of his gang, all residents of Ogbese town, were apprehended following intelligence reports linking them to violent crimes within the area.

Chilling Confessions and Evidence Recovery

During interrogation, Ifeoluwa Julius openly admitted to being a ritualist and confirmed the gang's involvement in multiple kidnapping incidents within the Ogbese axis.

Police recovered several incriminating items from the suspects, including:

  • One expended cartridge
  • Various fetish items
  • Blood-stained red and white cloth

Further intelligence revealed that the suspects had recently returned from a location where they allegedly procured criminal charms intended to fortify themselves for future operations.

The police spokesman, DSP Olushola Ayanlade, who disclosed this in a statement on Monday, November 17, 2025, emphasized the Command's determination to rid the state of criminal elements.

Reaffirming the Command's unwavering commitment to public safety, the Commissioner stated that Ondo State will never serve as a safe haven for criminals, warning that individuals involved in criminal activities will face the full weight of the law.

The suspects will be charged to court upon the conclusion of investigations.
