The Oyo State Police Command has categorically denied media reports suggesting that pupils and teachers abducted from Ahoro Esiele and Yawota Communities in Orire Local Government Area have been rescued. In a statement released on Saturday, the command described the claims as false, misleading, and entirely unsubstantiated.
Official Denial
Police spokesperson Olayinka Ayanlade emphasized that as of Saturday morning, no such development had occurred. He urged the public to disregard the report in its entirety, warning against spreading unverified information that could cause confusion and panic among the families of the victims and the general public.
Ongoing Rescue Operations
The command reassured the people of Oyo State and the affected families that intensive and coordinated rescue operations remain ongoing. Security operatives are working tirelessly, deploying all available human and operational resources to ensure the safe rescue of the abducted individuals, their unharmed reunification with their families, and the apprehension and prosecution of all those responsible for the heinous act.
The police command called for calm and cooperation from the public, urging anyone with useful information to come forward to assist in the rescue efforts.
