Police Apprehend Suspects in Akwa Ibom

The Akwa Ibom State Police Command has arrested four individuals in connection with alleged armed robbery and cultism. The suspects were taken into custody during a targeted operation by police operatives, according to a statement released on Sunday by the command’s Public Relations Officer, Timfon John.

The arrests were made following intelligence reports that led police to a hideout in the state. Items recovered from the suspects include a locally made pistol, two live cartridges, a mobile phone, and an undisclosed amount of cash believed to be proceeds from criminal activities.

Details of the Arrests

The suspects were identified as Nsidibe Okon, 25; Uduak Udo, 28; Ubong James, 30; and Aniekan Udo, 27. They are alleged to be members of a cult group involved in armed robbery operations across the state. Police said the arrests were part of ongoing efforts to curb violent crimes in Akwa Ibom.

Commissioner of Police, Olatoye Durosinmi, commended the operatives for their swift action and urged the public to continue providing useful information to aid crime prevention. He assured that the suspects would be charged to court upon completion of investigations.
