A shocking video has captured the moment a leopard barged into a liquor store in Todaraisingh, Rajasthan, India, and mauled a terrified shopkeeper. The incident occurred on Monday, July 20, 2026, when the five-year-old male leopard leaped into what appeared to be a stocking area of the booze shop and attacked Sanjay Gurjar, a 25-year-old shopkeeper.
Attack and Escape
The ferocious animal swiped its claws at Gurjar and grabbed onto his shoulders before the worker managed to shake the beast free and frantically scurried out of the store. People could be heard screaming in terror as the human and animal tussled. Gurjar managed to pull a shutter down to trap the wild animal inside the store before bolting to safety. He told the outlet, “I somehow pushed the leopard away and ran towards the exit. As I ran, I pulled the shutter down. Then I lost consciousness.”
Additional Attacks
Additional CCTV footage captured the leopard springing on another man, Fateh Lal Koli, 40, before climbing into the store and attacking Gurjar. The leopard also attacked a volunteer forest worker while wandering into the northern Indian town just before 9 a.m., according to the outlet. Wildlife specialists tracked the beast down and tranquilized it around 2 p.m., as reported.
Injuries and Aftermath
Gurjar suffered injuries to his hand, shoulder, and nose. The two other men were also injured in the horrifying attacks, although the extent of their injuries was unclear. The leopard prowled under shelves in the store, knocking over bottles, as shown in the clip. Forest officials conducted a five-hour operation to safely rescue the big cat after it was locked inside the shop by the salesman.
