Sowore Accuses Senator Ned Nwoko of Crimes Against Minor

Political activist and former presidential candidate Omoyele Sowore has entered the heated public dispute between Senator Ned Nwoko and his estranged wife Regina Daniels, levelling serious criminal allegations against the Delta North lawmaker.

Sowore's Explosive Allegations

In a dramatic development on Sunday, November 9, 2025, Sowore took to his verified Facebook page to accuse the All Progressives Congress (APC) chieftain of statutory sexual assault and abuse of power. The activist stated that Regina Daniels' revelation about being married to Nwoko at age 17 constitutes a serious criminal offense under British law.

Sowore emphasized that any sexual activity following the marriage would amount to statutory sexual assault under UK legislation, where Nwoko remains a registered legal practitioner. The activist declared that Nwoko must be held accountable for his actions.

Regina Daniels' Disturbing Claims

The controversy erupted when Regina Daniels made emotional revelations through social media posts and private notes. The Nollywood actress accused the senator of manipulation, psychological control, and creating false narratives to damage her reputation.

Among the most serious allegations, Daniels claimed that Nwoko introduced her to hard drugs while she was still underage and repeatedly forced himself upon her. She admitted to using drugs at one point in her life but stated her estranged husband weaponized this information to publicly humiliate her.

The actress detailed a pattern of control where Nwoko would isolate her from loved ones, seize her phones for weeks, and detain her whenever she resisted his authority. She also alleged the senator controlled her physically and medically, even suggesting she use drugs because it made her more romantic.

Legal and Professional Consequences

Sowore called for immediate action against the senator, demanding that the Law Society of England and Wales investigate Nwoko's fitness to practice law. The activist specifically mentioned the Solicitors Regulation Authority (SRA) and the Independent Solicitors Disciplinary Tribunal (SDT) as bodies that should commence disciplinary proceedings.

The human rights advocate vowed not to allow Nwoko to use police, political influence, or wealth to suppress victims or pervert justice. Sowore concluded his statement with a powerful declaration: Impunity has an expiry date, and that date is now!

The ongoing controversy has drawn significant public attention, with other prominent figures like Georgina Onuoha demanding Nwoko's resignation from the Senate. The FCT Police Command has confirmed the arrest and arraignment of Regina Daniels' brother, Sammy West, following a petition filed against him and three others.
