Discovery of the Body
A family source, who confirmed the incident, said that the deceased left home on that fateful day but did not return, prompting members of her family to begin a search for her. The police, family members, and sympathizers recovered the dead body of the woman from the mountains on Saturday, August 22, 2026.
Second Beheading in a Week
The sad incident comes barely a week after a man beheaded a woman identified as Aisha in the same Girei area. This marks the second such beheading in the community within a short period, raising concerns about the activities of ritualists in the region.
