Suspected Vandal Arrested in Plateau by OPEP Troops

Troops of Operation Enduring Peace (OPEP) have apprehended a suspected vandal in Kwall, Bassa Local Government Area of Plateau State. The suspect, identified as Mr. Nimnan Binfa, aged 42, was taken into custody at approximately 11:00 a.m. on May 3, 2026, by personnel of Sector 3 OPEP while attempting to steal copper wires within the premises of the College of Accountancy, Kwall.

Arrest During Routine Patrol

The suspect was apprehended during a routine security surveillance operation in the area. Troops on patrol noticed suspicious activity and moved in to investigate, leading to the arrest. A chainsaw was recovered from the suspect at the time of the arrest, which was allegedly intended for cutting the copper wires.

Investigation Underway

Following the arrest, the suspect is currently in custody and undergoing further investigation. Authorities are working to determine if the suspect is linked to other vandalism incidents in the region. The operation underscores the commitment of security forces to curbing criminal activities and protecting public infrastructure.
