Tragic Hit-and-Run Claims Woman's Life in Abeokuta
A devastating incident occurred in Abeokuta on Monday night when a woman identified as Kehinde Adewummi was struck and killed by a speeding vehicle believed to be driven by an internet fraudster, commonly known as a Yahoo boy.
The tragic event took place around 8 pm opposite the Renewed MKO Abiola Sporting Arena in Kuto, Abeokuta. Eyewitnesses reported that the victim's body was severely damaged, with some parts scattered on the road surface.
Eyewitness Account and Suspicious Circumstances
According to witnesses at the scene, the driver immediately fled after hitting the woman, who was returning to her home at Laderin after completing her day's work. The witness suggested a disturbing motive behind the incident.
"A woman hawking goods for market women at Kuto was knocked down by a speeding Yahoo boy around eight in the night," the eyewitness stated. "The woman lives at Laderin and was going home before the Yahoo boy used his car to kill her. And I think those boys are finding every means to renew their money ritual, especially during the Ember months period."
The victim's remains were later collected and placed in a sack before being removed from the roadway by emergency responders.
Separate Fatal Accident on Lagos-Abeokuta Expressway

The crash involved a Blue Man Diesel truck with registration number EPE 513 YJ and a red BAJAJ Boxer motorcycle registered as WDE 403 VQ. The incident took place at Iyana-Ologbo, resulting in one fatality.

The deceased's body has been transported to the morgue at Ifo General Hospital for proper preservation and identification.
