Troops from Sector 4 of Operation Enduring Peace have apprehended the father of a herder who assaulted a farmer, Isah Ahmad, in Barkin Ladi Local Government Area of Plateau State.
The incident took place on Thursday, May 28, 2026, between 10:00 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. at Hai Kurra Fall, following a disagreement over grazing on farmland.
According to security sources, the farmer was attacked by the herder after he resisted attempts to allow cattle to graze on his farm.
The sources revealed that the victim sustained injuries, while the suspected attacker managed to flee the scene.
During follow-up operations in the area, the troops arrested the father of the fleeing suspect, identified as Mr. Umar Abdullahi.
A search conducted in the village also led to the recovery of three Boxer motorcycles.
The injured farmer was evacuated to a medical facility in Makoli Village for treatment, while efforts are ongoing to apprehend the fleeing suspect.
