Social Media Activist Condemns Government Inaction After Violent Church Attack

Popular Nigerian social media activist Martins Vincent Otse, widely known as Verydarkman, has launched a scathing criticism against the federal government following a recent terrorist attack on a church in Kwara State. The incident occurred at Christ Apostolic Church (CAC) in Eruku town, located within the Ekiti Local Government Area, where armed assailants stormed the religious gathering and opened fire on worshippers.

According to reports from SaharaReporters, the attackers invaded the church during a meeting, sending congregants scrambling for safety as gunshots echoed through the worship center. A viral video capturing the chaotic scene shows terrified church members, including elderly women, fleeing for their lives as the assailants unleashed violence.

Verydarkman's Emotional Response to Security Failure

In a passionate video response that has since circulated widely online, Verydarkman expressed profound distress over the attack, revealing that the footage left him deeply disturbed and unable to sleep. "I watched that video, I could not sleep. I was disturbed all through," the activist stated emotionally.

The social media commentator highlighted the vulnerability of the victims, emphasizing that many Nigerians have mothers and loved ones who regularly attend church services. "A lot of us, our mothers are always in church. These people, we have the audacity to attack helpless people in the church… There's no limit to what these people can do," he lamented.

Direct Challenge to Presidential Leadership

Verydarkman's criticism extended to questioning the very existence and capability of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu's administration. In startling remarks, the activist suggested that the president might be deceased and called for leadership change if security challenges cannot be effectively addressed.

"Is the president still alive?… I have a reason to believe that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu is dead. You are the commander-in-chief of the armed forces for a reason," Verydarkman asserted. "These terrorists are no more than the soldiers… If you cannot do anything, get out of there and let somebody take over. Somebody with balls."

The activist also expressed alarm about the sophisticated weaponry used in the attack, noting that the assailants carried "assault rifles, AKs… not pump-action rifles" and questioned how such military-grade firearms ended up in the hands of criminals.

Nigerians React to Security Crisis

The Kwara church attack and Verydarkman's subsequent commentary have triggered widespread reactions across social media platforms. Many Nigerians expressed solidarity with the victims and frustration with the continuing security challenges facing the nation.

User @faithiyayi21 commented: "Tinubu should resign button >>>>>>>>" while @princetheophiluz added: "Rest In Peace, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, until you prove otherwise." Other reactions highlighted the emotional impact of seeing elderly worshippers targeted, with @_syndyroyal noting: "Those two old women running broke me?"

The incident has further intensified discussions about religious targeting and the government's effectiveness in protecting citizens across all regions of Nigeria. Verydarkman warned that more violence could follow unless authorities take decisive action to address the security crisis affecting multiple states.
