In a shocking case of betrayal and violence, a Zimbabwean man was allegedly murdered by his own brother with the help of the victim's wife after he discovered their secret love affair. The Zimbabwe Republic Police (ZRP) have confirmed the arrest of one suspect while another remains at large.
The Fatal Discovery and Coordinated Attack
The tragic incident took place on December 17, 2025, in Chimanimani. According to police reports, the victim, 43-year-old Benjamin Masaiti, was killed following a dispute linked to allegations of infidelity. His younger brother, 37-year-old Tonderai Masaiti, has been taken into custody in connection with the murder.
Investigators revealed that the murder stemmed from Benjamin discovering that Tonderai was having an affair with his wife, Chipo Chirigo (45). The police allege that the two secret lovers then coordinated a fatal attack on Benjamin. "The suspect allegedly assisted his sister-in-law, Chipo Chirigo, in attacking the victim," the ZRP stated, confirming this was not a solo act.
Manhunt for Fugitive Wife and Another Grisly Case
Following the attack, Chipo Chirigo fled the scene and is currently evading capture. Authorities have made a public appeal for information to locate her. "Chipo Chirigo is on the run. Anyone with information that may assist in her arrest should report at any nearest police station," the police statement urged.
This horrific case emerged just a day after another suspected domestic murder was reported in Nyadzonya, Nyazura. On December 16, 2025, police arrested 35-year-old Jelous Musasa for the alleged killing of his wife, 30-year-old Monica Tabvuroona.
In that separate incident, police said the suspect struck his wife all over her body with a log after accusing her of failing to greet him. The assault proved fatal. "The victim sustained severe head injuries and succumbed to the injuries," authorities confirmed.

Police investigations into both tragic cases are actively continuing. The primary focus in the Chimanimani murder is the apprehension of the fugitive wife, Chipo Chirigo. These back-to-back incidents have cast a spotlight on domestic violence and extreme outcomes of relationship conflicts in the region.
