Police authorities in Zimbabwe have initiated an urgent nationwide search operation following a tragic incident where a man allegedly murdered his friend during a drinking session after an argument over spilled beer.
Deadly Confrontation Over Spilled Drink
Mehluli Moyo, aged 33, is wanted by police for the brutal killing of his 22-year-old friend, Luckmore Nhliziyo, in the Tsholotsho area. The fatal encounter occurred when Nhliziyo accidentally knocked over Moyo's drink during what should have been a casual social gathering.
Witnesses reported that the situation escalated rapidly from a minor accident to a violent confrontation. According to police accounts, Moyo's anger intensified almost immediately, transforming what began as a trivial mishap into a deadly altercation that shocked the entire community.
Frenzied Attack and Community Shock
Police spokesperson Commissioner Paul Nyathi described the assault as particularly vicious and frenzied. During the heated argument, Moyo reportedly produced an okapi knife and proceeded to stab the young Nhliziyo multiple times across his body.
