Activist visits elderly Kwara church attack survivor

Prominent security and safety advocate Harrison Gwamnishu has made an emotional visit to Eruku community in Kwara State following the recent terrorist attack on a local church that left residents traumatized.

Meeting with the Viral Survivor

Gwamnishu traveled specifically to meet with the elderly woman whose desperate escape from the attackers was captured in a viral video that shocked the nation. The security activist shared footage of his interaction with the survivor, who remained visibly shaken and in pain days after the horrific incident.

The attack occurred when terrorists stormed a parish of the Christ Apostolic Church (CAC) in Eruku, resulting in the deaths of at least two worshippers and the abduction of numerous congregants. The heartbreaking video that circulated online showed the elderly woman struggling to flee the violence due to her advanced age, sparking widespread concern among Nigerians.

Community in Crisis

During his visit, Gwamnishu revealed that the kidnappers have already established contact with the community and are demanding ransom payments for the safe return of those abducted. He described families as terrified and devastated, struggling to comprehend why such tragedy has befallen their peaceful community.

The activist provided immediate financial support to help cover the elderly woman's medical expenses and called for urgent government intervention. "The Federal and State Governments must urgently intervene. This level of violence cannot be ignored, and these families cannot be left alone in their grief," Gwamnishu emphasized.

Public Reaction and Support

Social media users have widely praised Gwamnishu's compassionate response to the crisis. Many commentators noted that the elderly woman's emotional reaction suggested she had received little support since the attack occurred.

Kelly Onyebuchi commented: "With the reaction of this woman it seems like no one has shown her kindness since that thing happened. Thank you brother all the way from delta state."

Another supporter, Fidel Chigozie, described Gwamnishu as "an angel in human form" for his selfless dedication to helping vulnerable Nigerians affected by violence and kidnapping.

The incident has raised serious concerns about security in rural communities across Nigeria, with many citizens calling for improved protection measures for places of worship and vulnerable populations.
