Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar has made an urgent appeal to the Federal Government, demanding the immediate declaration of a state of emergency on insecurity across Nigeria.
The prominent political figure issued this strong call while reacting to the devastating attack on St. Mary's Primary and Secondary School located in Papiri, within Agwara Local Government Area.
Heartbreaking School Attack Details
The terrifying incident occurred in the early hours of Friday, November 21, when armed men stormed the Catholic-owned educational institution. According to reports, the attackers arrived in massive numbers, using more than 60 motorcycles and accompanied by a van.
In a coordinated assault, the gunmen successfully abducted an unspecified number of students from the school premises, leaving the community in shock and despair.
Atiku's Emotional Response
Expressing his profound distress, Atiku wrote: "Not again. This is truly heartbreaking. How many more lives must be shattered before decisive action is taken?"
The former Vice President emphasized the critical need for immediate government intervention, stating: "It is not too late for the government to finally declare a state of emergency on insecurity and confront this menace with the urgency it deserves."
