Bandits have killed an abducted student in Kaduna State after holding him for four months in captivity and receiving a ransom payment. The victim, identified as Godwin Bitrus, was a student of Kaduna State College of Education, Gidan Waya, located in Jema'a Local Government Area. He was abducted along with other victims on December 31, 2025.
The tragic development was confirmed by Facebook user Dogara Adams Rishiwa in a post on Tuesday, April 28, 2026. He wrote, "Our land Rishiwa, is soaked in blood and tears again. Murdered in cold blood after 4 months in captivity. RIP Godwin Bitrus RISHIWA. Condolences to the immediate family and entire RISHIWA LAND."
Another source, Comr Haji Barnabas, confirmed that a ransom had been paid. The incident has sparked outrage and grief among the community, highlighting the ongoing security challenges in the region.
