FRSC Officer and Neighbour Seized in Late-Night Otukpo Raid
In a brazen security breach, gunmen have kidnapped a personnel of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), Oketa Ejembi, along with his neighbour in the Otukpo Local Government Area of Benue State. The violent incident unfolded on the evening of November 9, 2025, sending shockwaves through the Asa 1 community located along Otobi Akpa Road.
Details of the Attack
The assault occurred at approximately 9:00 p.m. when a group of five armed individuals stormed the residence. Witnesses reported that the assailants forcefully broke down the door before seizing the FRSC officer and his neighbour, whose identity remains unknown. The swift and aggressive nature of the attack left residents in a state of fear and panic.
Acting promptly, the son of the victim, Daniel Oketa, reported the abduction to the police at about 9:43 p.m. the same evening. His quick action set the official response in motion.
Police Response and Ongoing Efforts
Upon receiving the report, the Divisional Police Officer (DPO) immediately mobilized a patrol team, which was joined by tactical units. They were swiftly deployed to the scene of the crime to commence search and investigation operations.
The Benue State Police Command has confirmed that efforts are actively ongoing to track down the suspects and ensure the safe rescue of the two victims. Furthermore, the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) has officially commenced a detailed investigation into the abduction, aiming to unravel the circumstances behind the attack and bring the perpetrators to justice.
