Heartbreaking Abduction in Kwara Church Attack
A devastating attack on a Christ Apostolic Church in Eruku community, Kwara state has left families in anguish as gunmen abducted several worshippers, including a mother with her baby. The violent incident occurred on Tuesday, November 18, 2025, during church service, resulting in two confirmed deaths and multiple abductions.
Family Member's Emotional Plea
Adesola Yinka, a local farmer, took to Facebook to raise the alarm about her cousin's abduction. In an emotional post that has since gone viral, Yinka revealed the heartbreaking detail that her cousin was taken alongside her infant child. "My cousin was among the abducted from the CAC church by bandits in Eruku. She is with her baby," Yinka wrote, capturing the terror that has gripped the community.
The Eruku community, which shares boundaries with Kogi state, has become the latest target in what appears to be a renewed onslaught by suspected bandits. The attack was captured in a livestream during the church service, showing the terrifying moments when gunmen stormed the building and began shooting sporadically.
Growing Outrage and Community Response
The farmer's outcry has sparked widespread anger and concern across social media platforms. Netizens have expressed their frustration with the continuing violence in northern regions and are demanding immediate government intervention.
Among the reactions compiled by Legit.ng, Shorel O Eddy commented: "More reason why everyone must be on same page and stand against the spread of this madness. Many of us had been holding the stand. It shall not get to us? But now, it is closer than close."
Victoria Mayowa Shitu added: "Hmmmm! I saw the woman who picked up her baby in that video, Lord please show mercy, let the captives be set free Lord."
The emotional responses reflect the growing fear among residents as violent attacks continue to threaten places of worship and community safety.
Multiple Families Affected
This is not an isolated case within the same incident. Another man has come forward revealing that his two aunts were also kidnapped during the same church attack. The victim identified his grandmother in the circulated video, seen fleeing the church during the chaotic shooting.
The video evidence has provided crucial documentation of the attack but has also exposed the raw terror experienced by worshippers who were simply attending their regular church service.
As families await news about their loved ones, the community has united in prayer and calls for action. Many are urging church organizations to strengthen security measures while demanding that government agencies take more decisive steps to protect citizens from such brazen attacks.
