In a significant security breakthrough, troops of the Nigerian Army have apprehended a suspected gunrunner in Taraba State, recovering dangerous weapons and ammunition during the operation.
Operation Details and Arrest
Acting on credible intelligence on November 12, 2025, soldiers from 6 Brigade Nigerian Army/Sector 3, Operation Whirl Stroke (OPWS) conducted a targeted raid at Shagada Village under Namnai Ward in Gassol Local Government Area of Taraba State.
The operation led to the capture of 25-year-old Abdulmudallabi Audu, who was identified as a suspected gunrunner. During the arrest, troops discovered the suspect in possession of substantial military-grade weaponry.
Recovered Weapons Cache
The security forces successfully recovered several dangerous items from the suspect, including:
- One AK-47 rifle
- Two AK-47 magazines
- Fifty-three rounds of 7.62mm special ammunition
