Troops Rescue Kidnapped Woman After Terror Attack in Katsina

Troops of the 17 Brigade of the Nigerian Army, in collaboration with the Katsina State Community Watch Corps (KSCWC), successfully rescued a kidnapped woman after foiling a terrorist attack in Charanchi Local Government Area of Katsina State. The operation took place at approximately 11:22 p.m. on July 26, 2026.

According to military sources, the joint security team swiftly mobilized after receiving a distress call from Karkata Village. The troops, deployed at Forward Operating Base (FOB) Radda, encountered the armed terrorists before reaching the affected community.

The troops engaged the assailants with a heavy volume of fire, forcing them to abandon the kidnapped woman and flee into the surrounding bush. The victim was rescued and later reunited with her family.
