Three personnel of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) were killed by unidentified gunmen in an attack along the Tsamiya–Illo road in Bagudo Local Government Area of Kebbi State.
Details of the Attack
According to security sources, the attack occurred at about 12:55 p.m. on June 4, 2026, while the officers were carrying out official duties along the route. The sources indicated that the armed assailants ambushed the personnel, who reportedly attempted to escape upon sighting the attackers. However, the gunmen pursued them on motorcycles and fatally shot them.
Victims Identified
The deceased officers were identified as Deputy Chief Road Marshal Assistant (DCRMA) Umar Aliyu, Senior Road Marshal Assistant (SRMA) Ezra Manu Gona, and Road Marshal Assistant I (RMA I) Mansur Ibrahim Nasir.
Security Response
Security sources said the incident has heightened tension in the area, prompting authorities to advise personnel to exercise extreme caution pending further security assessments.
