A fire has erupted at the Bono Energy Terminal located in the Coconut area of Apapa, Lagos, prompting an emergency response from the Lagos State Fire and Rescue Service (LSFRS). The incident occurred at the fuel storage facility along the Apapa-Oworonshoki Expressway on Friday, July 3.

Fire Service Confirms Blaze

The LSFRS confirmed the development through its spokesperson, Shakiru Amodu. In a statement to newsmen, Amodu said: "The Lagos State Fire and Rescue Service is currently curbing a Fire explosion at Bono Energy Terminal on Apapa-Oworonshoki Expressway, by Coconut, Olodi Apapa, Lagos. Update to follow."

Emergency Response Underway

Firefighters remain at the scene battling the flames. Videos circulating on social media platform X show thick smoke and flames rising from the terminal as emergency crews work to prevent the fire from spreading. As of the time of this report, officials have not announced the cause of the fire.
