A fire outbreak has destroyed eight shops in the Oju-Odo Academy area of Ibadan, Oyo State, leaving traders counting their losses. The incident occurred at No. 2, Mobolorunduro, Balaro Street, in the Ona-Ara Local Government Area of the state.

Firefighters Respond to Distress Call

According to the Oyo State Fire Services Agency (OYSFA), firefighters responded to a distress call in the early hours of Wednesday and immediately deployed personnel to the scene to contain the blaze. The agency reported that eight out of 11 shops in the affected row were severely damaged before the fire was brought under control.

Prompt Intervention Prevents Further Damage

The prompt intervention by firefighters prevented the flames from spreading to nearby buildings and the remaining three shops. No casualties were recorded in the incident, which brought relief to residents and business owners in the area.
