Harrison Gwamnishu Slams Police Officer Over Shooting Threat

Human rights activist Harrison Gwamnishu has raised an alarm over a trigger-happy police officer who threatened to shoot anyone recording him while on duty. In a video shared online, the officer, identified as Newton Isokpehi, warned citizens against recording his activities, stating that he had spent 26 years in the police force and that anyone who came close while he was armed would face consequences.

Officer's Threatening Remarks

In the viral video, Isokpehi claimed that his body was filled with bullet wounds and lamented that police officers are not well taken care of in the country. He further stated that anyone who challenged him would be buried by his police boss. The officer's aggressive tone and threats have sparked widespread concern among Nigerians.

Harrison Gwamnishu's Reaction

Reacting to the video, Gwamnishu called for the officer to be examined for substance use, emphasizing that the threat was not an empty one. He warned Nigerians to be cautious, as they never know where they might encounter the officer. Gwamnishu also advised citizens to respect police officers during checkpoints, noting that such operations are based on official instructions.

@emir1_____ shared, "tunjidisu1 @nigeriapoliceforce I can see anger inside of him, please locate him and retire him in peace, he has done his best, 26 years is not 26 days." @alhajiq commented, "The reason why he is boasting is that he has guns; if every citizen had access to weapons like in real, the discussion will be different." @hauwa_sugamama wrote, "You see they're frustrated and instead of facing the government that is making them suffer..it's the citizens they want to pour the frustration on and killing us..Oh Lord."
