According to a statement released by the board, the operation was spearheaded by the Commander-General of the Sokoto State Hisbah Board, Malam Usman Abdullahi Jatau, alongside the Director of Da’awah, Imam Sirajo Abubakar. The raids targeted locations including Nakasari, Hubbare, Offer Road, the Sokoto Central Motor Park, and Giginya Hotel, resulting in the detention of 26 suspects.
