LSSTF Deploys Team to Monitor Security Assets in Lagos

In a significant move to bolster accountability, the Lagos State Security Trust Fund (LSSTF) has officially launched a dedicated team to oversee security assets across the state.

Monitoring Team Formally Deployed

Dr Ayo Ogunsan, the Executive Secretary and Chief Executive Officer of the LSSTF, formally commissioned the LSSTF monitoring team on 24 December 2025. The deployment ceremony was held at the Fund's headquarters in Lagos.

Dr Ogunsan charged the newly deployed team with a critical mandate: to ensure strict accountability, transparency, and the effective use of all public resources given to security agencies operating within Lagos State. He emphasized that this initiative is a decisive step in fulfilling his promise of transparency, aimed at strengthening public confidence in the Fund's operations.

Leadership and Operational Support Unveiled

During the event, a security expert, Adeniran Israel Samson, was introduced as the Head of the Field Operation Office for the LSSTF Monitoring Team. To enhance the team's efficiency and mobility, a brand-new operational vehicle was presented to them.

Dr Ogunsan left no room for ambiguity regarding the team's purpose. He stated clearly that their role is not ceremonial. He reminded the members that their work is vital to upholding the trust placed in the LSSTF and the Lagos State Government by corporate donors and private individuals.

A Pledge Fulfilled for Lagos Residents

The constitution and deployment of this monitoring team fulfill a specific pledge made by Dr Ogunsan. He had committed to this action during a Strategic Media Parley with Senior Editors and Media Executives held at the LSSTF Headquarters on December 5, 2025.

His resolution was clear: to ensure that every naira donated to the Fund directly translates into enhanced security and safety for all residents of Lagos State. The core message to the team was, "Discharge your work effectively." The credibility of the Lagos State Security Trust Fund, he concluded, depends on how well these resources are safeguarded and accounted for.
