Makinde Pledges Enhanced Security to Unlock Economic Potential

Governor Seyi Makinde of Oyo State has reaffirmed his administration's commitment to prioritizing security and fortifying the state's security framework to ensure the continuation of its massive economic development. The governor made this statement over the weekend during a dinner organized in honor of members of Syndicate 5 of the Executive Intelligence Management Course (EIMC) 19, from the National Institute for Security Studies (NISS). The event took place at the Local Government Training School Hall, Secretariat, Agodi, Ibadan.

Represented by the Secretary to the State Government, Professor Musibau Babatunde, Makinde emphasized that effective collaboration and synergy among security agencies have been crucial in maintaining peace and safeguarding lives and property in Oyo State. He expressed gratitude to the team for selecting Oyo State for their study tour and commended their outstanding performance during their brief visit.

Remarks from the Syndicate Supervisor

Earlier, the Syndicate Supervisor, Mr. Julius Obukohwa, fsi, noted that the visit significantly enriched the syndicate's understanding of governance, security issues, and environmental safety. He praised Makinde's administration for equipping security agencies with adequate tools to enhance their performance and combat crime and insecurity.

In separate goodwill messages, the Olubadan of Ibadanland, Oba (Sen) Rashidi Ladoja, represented by Oba Akeem Mobolaji Adewoyin; the Executive Assistant to the Governor on Security Coordination, Major General Lukman Omoniyi (retd); and the Executive Chairman of Akinyele Local Government, Hon. Wole Akinleye, congratulated Syndicate 5 on the successful completion of their study tour. They urged the members to apply the experiences gained to improve the security sector.
