NANS Praises DSS for Peaceful 2026 Convention

The National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS) has lauded the Department of State Services (DSS) for its role in ensuring what it described as a peaceful, credible, and historic 2026 national convention held in Abuja.

In a statement signed by the newly elected NANS president, Akinteye Babatunde Afeez, the students' body praised the security agency for its professionalism, vigilance, and operational coordination throughout the convention. Afeez noted that the exercise was conducted in an atmosphere of peace and order.

Afeez stated that the successful conduct of the convention would have been difficult without the robust security architecture put in place by the DSS. He added that the agency played a crucial role in safeguarding lives and maintaining decorum during the gathering of student leaders from across the country and the diaspora.

Afeez further applauded the DSS operatives deployed for the exercise, noting that their patriotism, professionalism, and strategic coordination contributed immensely to the peaceful outcome of the event. He expressed confidence in the continued partnership between NANS and the DSS, stressing that stronger collaboration would promote productive engagement in the interest of Nigerian students and national development.
