The Nasrul-Lahi-L-Fatih Society (NASFAT) has condemned the persistent wave of insecurity across Nigeria, describing the recurring attacks on innocent citizens and communities as tragic, alarming and deeply troubling. In a statement issued by the society, NASFAT expressed concern over the continuous loss of lives, destruction of livelihoods and the growing atmosphere of fear in many parts of the country.
Urgent Attention Needed
The Islamic organisation said the current security situation requires urgent attention from all stakeholders, stressing that peace and security are essential for national development and the well-being of citizens. According to the society, no nation can achieve sustainable growth and prosperity in an environment marked by violence, fear and instability.
NASFAT noted that the recurring attacks have left many families grieving and displaced several communities, while also affecting economic activities and social cohesion. The society urged government authorities, security agencies, traditional institutions and citizens to strengthen collaborative efforts aimed at protecting lives and property across the country.
Call for United Approach
It stressed the need for a united approach to tackling insecurity, adding that collective responsibility and cooperation among stakeholders are necessary to restore confidence among communities. As part of its response to the security challenges facing the nation, NASFAT announced that special prayers would be held in all its branches and locations across the globe on Sunday.
The organisation said the prayer sessions would seek divine intervention, protection, wisdom and lasting peace for Nigeria and its people. According to NASFAT, prayer remains a powerful source of hope, strength and moral renewal, particularly during difficult periods.
Global Prayer Initiative
The society therefore encouraged its members, stakeholders and well-meaning Nigerians to participate fully in the global prayer exercise. It described the initiative as a demonstration of unity, compassion and national solidarity at a time when many citizens are affected by insecurity and uncertainty. NASFAT's leadership said the planned prayers reflect the organisation's commitment to promoting peace, harmony, justice and sustainable development in Nigeria.
The society also reaffirmed its support for lawful and constructive measures capable of addressing insecurity and fostering greater understanding among the country's diverse communities. It called on leaders at all levels to continue working towards solutions that will guarantee the safety of citizens and strengthen national unity.
Hope and Collective Action
The organisation further urged Nigerians at home and in the diaspora not to lose hope despite the prevailing challenges confronting the nation. NASFAT expressed confidence that Nigeria would overcome its security challenges through sincere prayers, responsible leadership, effective security measures and collective action. The society maintained that while security agencies have a major role to play in protecting citizens, every Nigerian also has a responsibility to support efforts aimed at building a peaceful and secure society.
It added that unity, mutual respect and cooperation remain critical to overcoming the country's challenges and ensuring a better future for generations to come. NASFAT concluded by praying for peace, stability and prosperity in Nigeria, expressing hope that the country would emerge stronger, safer and more united.
