NSCDC Arrests School Staff for Defiling 14-Year-Old in Kwara

The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Kwara State Command, has arrested a 43-year-old man, Amuda Kamaldeen Olubukola, over the alleged defilement of a 14-year-old girl. The spokesperson for the command, ASC 1 Ayoola Michael Shola, disclosed this in a statement on Friday, June 26, 2026.

Complaint and Investigation

According to Shola, the arrest followed a complaint received by the Gender Unit of the Command, which triggered an immediate investigation into the disturbing allegation. Preliminary investigation revealed that the suspect, a non-teaching staff member of a public primary school in Ilorin, allegedly had unlawful sexual intercourse with the victim, a Primary 4 pupil, on several occasions inside his office within the school premises.

The victim further alleged that the suspect repeatedly promised to marry her before allegedly subjecting her to the abuse and, during the incidents, covered her mouth to prevent her from raising an alarm. The case came to light after the victim's mother reported that her daughter had allegedly become pregnant as a result of the abuse.

Suspect Admits Offence

The suspect admitted to the offence during interrogation, while attempting to attribute his actions to “the work of the devil.” The Kwara State Commandant, Commandant Abbas Nda Mohammed, condemned the act, describing it as a grave violation of the rights, dignity and innocence of a child, stressing that the Command would pursue the matter to its logical conclusion.

“Schools are meant to nurture, protect and inspire children, not expose them to abuse. Any individual who preys on the innocence of a child, particularly within the school environment, has committed a grave offense against the society and will be made to face the full weight of the law,” Mohammed stated.

Next Steps

The Commandant added that investigation is nearing completion and that the suspect will be arraigned in court as soon as the necessary legal processes are concluded.
