NSCDC Deploys 1,920 for Eid-el-Kabir in Ogun

The Ogun State Command of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) has deployed a total of 1,920 personnel across the state to ensure the safety of lives and properties during the Eid-el-Kabir festivities. The deployment covers the period before, during, and after the celebrations.

Deployment Announcement

State Commandant Remilekun Ekundayo made the announcement in a statement released to the press by the Command’s Public Relations Officer, CSC Sulaimon Folorunso, in Abeokuta. Ekundayo emphasized that the deployment was necessary following the Federal Government’s declaration of public holidays for the Eid-el-Kabir festival.

Personnel and Coverage

The personnel were drawn from various departments, units, tactical squads, divisions, and area commands of the Corps. This strategic move aims to strengthen security presence and maintain law and order throughout the festive period across Ogun State.

Ekundayo directed that the operation focus not only on protecting residents and visitors but also on securing Critical National Assets and Infrastructure belonging to the Federal, State, and Local Governments within the state.

Preventive Measures

The Commandant explained that the proactive deployment would help prevent vandalism, economic sabotage, and other criminal activities often associated with festive periods. She urged all deployed personnel to exhibit the highest level of discipline, professionalism, civility, and operational alertness in their duties, while maintaining cordial relationships with the public.

Appeal to the Public

Ekundayo congratulated Muslim faithful on the occasion of Eid-el-Kabir and urged residents to uphold the virtues of peace, tolerance, unity, sacrifice, and mutual understanding, which are core teachings of the Holy Qur’an. She appealed to members of the public to remain vigilant and promptly report any suspicious persons, movements, or activities to the nearest NSCDC formation or other security agencies for immediate response.
