A tragic incident has occurred in Bayelsa State as a National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) member, identified as Ajetunmobi Sunday Dayo, lost his life at a local beach. The unfortunate event took place on Saturday at Okumbiribeleu Beach, located in the Akassa community of Brass Local Government Area, where the corps member had gone for a picnic with fellow colleagues.
Details of the Incident
According to a community source who spoke to Daily Trust, Dayo was swimming with his colleagues when he suddenly went missing. The source stated that his colleagues began searching for him after noticing his absence. When they raised the alarm, local divers around the beach immediately launched a search and rescue mission, but their efforts were unsuccessful.
