Actress Opeyemi Aiyeola has called on influential figures, including the Ooni of Ife, Eniola Badmus, Desmond Elliott, Funke Akindele, Toyin Abraham, and others, to use their platforms to speak against the alarming rate of insecurity in Nigeria.
She made this statement while reacting to the recent terror attack in Oyo State, where six teachers and an unknown number of pupils were abducted. One of the teachers was reportedly beheaded by the terrorists. A video showing the decapitated head of the male teacher circulated on social media two days ago.
In a video recording she posted online, Opeyemi emphasized that if insecurity is happening in Oyo State, it is clear that it is “coming close to home.” She urged her colleagues to leverage their influence to address the growing threat.
Call to Action
Opeyemi’s plea comes as insecurity continues to escalate across the country, with recent attacks in various states causing widespread fear. She stressed the need for collective action from public figures to raise awareness and push for solutions.
Reactions from Colleagues
While some colleagues have yet to respond, many fans and followers have supported Opeyemi’s call, urging celebrities to take a stand against the violence affecting communities.
