The video, which has been circulating widely on social media, was described as misleading by the Commissioner for Information and Civic Orientation, Prince Dotun Oyelade.

Bandits attacked and abducted the victims from schools in Oriire Local Government Area in Oyo State. The abduction sparked widespread concern among residents and families of the victims.
Government's Response
Reacting to the viral footage, Commissioner Oyelade stated that the video is capable of creating unnecessary confusion among residents and the families of those affected by the abduction. He emphasized that the state government is continuing its discreet interventions to secure the release of the victims.
"The viral video about the release of those abducted at Oriire in Oyo State is unfortunately untrue," Oyelade said. "The state government continues its discreet interventions, which we are very hopeful will yield the desired result soon. We thank all for their patience."
Call for Patience
The government urged the public to remain calm and avoid spreading unverified information that could hinder rescue efforts. Authorities assured that all necessary measures are being taken to ensure the safe return of the abducted individuals.
