Ankit Sabharwal and his wife, Shifali, went to Ghuman Nagar with a property dealer to inspect a house they were considering renting. According to Ankit, the pit bull rushed out as soon as the house gate was opened and attacked his wife. The dog mauled her arm and other parts of her body, leaving her with deep injuries that required surgery. She is currently undergoing treatment at a private hospital.
Ankit also suffered deep bite wounds on his legs and back while attempting to rescue his wife. The couple's ordeal was captured on CCTV, showing the dog attacking them as nearby residents tried to fend it off with sticks. A woman is seen coming out of the house with a stick but is unable to stop the animal. Later, two to three more people approach with sticks and manage to pull the injured couple away.
