According to the Ogun State Traffic Compliance and Enforcement Agency (TRACE), the collision happened at approximately 8:00 a.m. near the Odogbolu Junction, on the section of the road leading into Ijebu-Ode.

Driver Flees, Victim Succumbs to Injuries

Babatunde Akinbiyi, the spokesperson for TRACE, confirmed the grim details. He stated that the driver of the vehicle responsible for the crash did not stop to render aid or report the incident. Instead, the motorist fled the scene immediately, leaving the victim behind before emergency responders could arrive.

Graphic images from the location showed the male victim lying motionless by the roadside. The injuries visible on his body, especially to the head, were consistent with a severe impact from a vehicle.

Family Evacuates Body for Burial

In a subsequent update, Akinbiyi provided closure to one aspect of the sad event. He reported that relatives of the deceased man had been located and had arrived at the scene. The family subsequently took possession of the body to proceed with burial arrangements in line with their traditions.
